A album full of hits like "Radio Gaga", "Hammer To Fall", "It's A Hard Life", and "I Want To Break Free", all the highlights of this album. Also we have "Man on the Prowl" and "Keep passing through the Window" Two underrated pieces. Machines is a piece of art but is less fitting that the rest and Tear it Up being the weakest in a hit album

this was one of the greatest Queen studio albums. Definitely the greatest of their 80's material.

One of Queen's greatest records. I love Machines (or Back To Humans) and even all (but one) singles! Bit short though. They should've made room for Queen's greatest b-side ever; I Go Crazy.

Not an album I listen to very often, but I'm giving it an eight because of the singles and Is This The World We Created? My fave would have to be Radio Ga Ga... I do love those handclaps!

On this album non of the songs is weak. Maybe the weakest is Man On The Prowl. But Radio Ga-Ga is clasic QUEEN song.

The rockers on this album kick butt (Tear it up, Hammer to Fall) and there are other solid tracks. Sound a bit more Queen-like than the previous 2 albums.

i wrote wondering, but mean wandering. Excusez moi.
26.02.2006 22:35 | Harry |
Radio Ga Ga combined a few brilliant elements that made it a classic; catchy sci-fi synths, and the singandclap-a-long chorus -like we will rock you- and i'm pretty sure the video clip made the song so popular. But for the rest of the album..pfff.. most of the material sounds like one of their older songs. A lot of rip offs!!! it's a hard life was better done (play the game) man on the prowl too (crazy little thing) and hammer to fall doesn't compare to tie your mother. But okay, queen were wondering mid 80's and i think they went through their own catalogue to find some postmarks. The only other song worth remembering is is this the world we created. Beautiful lyrics.

Man On The Prowl sounds like something you'd expect Jerry Lee Lewis would sing. The riproaring piano just makes the song one of the best on the album.

I love this album, and I really don't dislike any track (even radio ga ga can be tolerated if I'm not paying attention...) the guitar solo kicks ass in hammer to fall. and man on the prowl makes me flash back to the days of bring back that leroy brown and millionare waltz. all in all, the only good '80s queen album. ~Ben :-)

How is Machines hilarious? there's nothing funny in the lyrics... in fact it's a serious song, besides the fact that they make up their own word in that song. Great album!

Great album, this really helped them pick themselves up after Hot Space's poor result. All songs are great, but for some reason I don't sit in ore like I do with the other albums from the seventies, p[erhaps this is because I have has it for a very long time. Anyway, Is this..created? is beautiful, and Machines is hilarious...

This is a return to form for Queen. The songwriting is a lot better, and the general sound is much improved from HS and FG. Very boisterous and entertaining.

The resurection from queen with classical songs and a clever using from Keyboards, the fact that Freddie sings every song is a good thing too.

"Windows" is a really lacklustre song, no wonder it wasn't used for the soundtrack it was written for! "Ga ga" is too synthy for me, only just sounds like Queen. I used to think I really liked this album, but I don't think I do that much...

I find the Works a strange bag. It's a very good collection of songs individually but it makes for a weak album. I'd prefer to put on Greatest Hits II rather than the Works. Otherwise I quite like Tear it Up & Is this the World We Created..

Another great album. The reason why it doesn't get a 10/10 is because it are only 9 songs! That's just way too few for an album.

I want to break free

Hammer to fall. clearly the best song on this album, (it's a hard life not far behind). But machines is really bad. Queen rules

A few time alone, and Queen bring out a fantastic album, wonderful! Tear it up is the best of this album, with Hammer to fall and Is this the world we created; then I want to break free and It's a hard life, with Radio ga ga. Good piano work in Man on the prowl!
